Hi,

In a contract dealing with the installation and commissioning of certain equipment in a factory setting:

This sentence is under invoicing.

"25% bij het opstellen van het PV van 1ste voorlopige oplevering"

PV, I'm assuming is therefore a document drafted upon provisional delivery/hand-over.

Can someone provide the term that PV stands for please.

Is widely used judging from my googling efforts but can't find a site where the term is actually written out. Is therefor probably an easy question. One of things you either know immediately or will kick yourself once told!

From much later in the document, I've in the interim been able to establish this is a set of minutes that records compliance with certain aspects, signed by both parties and states that as a result provisional hand-over takes place. Thanks for the help anyway.

I am talking purely from a footnote perspective to provide the English reader with more information as to what type of report this actually is and not leave it in a vacumn. Anyway, as stated that wasn't my original question - although I did state in this context.

it's a record of the hand-over. don't go overboard (bedtime,remember?). anyway you wanted to know what PV stood for and I told you. I never heard of a PV being a compliance certificate but then again..... ;-)

Makes sense, in fact have the same in Portuguese so should have realised - but in this context, bearing in mind equipment is being installed and commissioned and once done the PV is issued and 25% of the contract price is paid out - might it not be more a case of compliance certificate? General question for 2moro - past my bedtime too.......:-)

I believe that PV stands for "proces-verbaal" which is essentially an "official report" or "minutes" or "record". This term is taken over in Flemish from the French "procès verbal".
