I've always slept long hours, but my sleeping time is getting shorter with ageing.
In my twenties, I once sustained 38 hours (11am-1am) of activity without any nap, but the brain gets confused. I could sleep 12 hours or more at weekends, and I also went into hibernation mode with a personal record of 26,5 hours (10:30pm-1am) of continuous, solid sleep when I recovered from a few physically exhausting weeks (as a conscript).

In teenage years i was taking beauty naps after lunch or at 2pm - after finishing school, today not anymore.
Now i sleep 5-7 hours per day.

From time to time, I have difficulty falling asleep, but once I do, I sleep 8-9 hours during the week and 9-10 hours during the weekend, unless I have work to do. Over the years my sleep habits have changed, I was a night owl and nowadays I go to bed between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.

To tell the truth, bus driving changed me a lot, expecialy night shifts therefore we slept whenever we could.

it really depends, if I'm without any wories I tend to sleep up to 10 hours, but can do just fine with 6 (less than that I won't work properly)

I love sleeping and I'd love to be able to sleep 8 hours a night but it's impossible. My grandmother had the same trouble. The other day I read that many women my age (over 65) spend half their life trying not to fall asleep and the other half, trying to sleep.
