You're being sarcastic, right?
I would have though that doing something about 'the small inconvenience of lack of freelance work' [my addition: **at acceptable terms**] would be a bit higher on the list of priorities?
In my dictionary flogging the dead donkey is not 'resilience', it's waste of time.
Adaptability is surely a great thing.
Only thing is, if adaptability within a profession leads nowhere you would want to go, then adaptability without the said profession takes precedence. Makes sense?

If you have some highly specific skill set, or knowledge set, within the translation area that is narrow enough and obscure enough not to attract the interest of AI over the next few years, then double down on that. For example, if you're an expert on the species of plankton found at different depths in the Arctic Ocean, or the 5000 styles of mediaeval embroidery - if indeed those are real things - and you're also a genius at arcane formatting tricks in LaTeX, then certainly keep at it.

I'd say that one must either learn a skill that doesn't require working on a computer or be a genius in a particular field: a genius in mathematics, physics, literature, or software, for example.
