Link says the language is unknown, and yet gives a translation... how does that work? Is this some new Google Translate feature I was unaware of?!

why this song is so fascinating. Listening to the Miss Luba version is amazing. I had never heard it until now but was told about it by my children years ago. Thanks for the link, Michael. I agree with Phil that the 'translation' seems suspect, as if someone simply picked up on the 'ladu'/ladle and the 'banaha'/banana, adding something fanciful for fun. It had not even occurred to me that there are no pineapple trees in Africa.
