After a few bad experiences, you learn how to identify potential sammers, and you don't fall for their scams anymore. I did have a few unpaid jobs in the past, but it hasn't happened anymore in many years, despite the dozens of emails I receive every week that bear several scam identifiers, and I discard them immediately.

...but the payment system imposed (by a Spanish Ministerio) has made it impossible for me to issue a bill to their satisfaction yet. It's a big bill because otherwise the time spent on trying to meet their requisites (not stated when the job was offered) wouldn't make it worthwhile.

Anyone with experience of converting bills into "facturae" form?!
